Lexus chases new sales milestone

Lexus is hoping that the new refreshing looks across their lineup, will help them to break a new sales barrier. Thanks in part to the new UX they hope to finally break 100,000 annual sales by 2020. Do you guys think they've done enough with the new models and redesigns to hit this number? I know the new spindle grille is hit or miss depending on the person.

I love the styling direction that Lexus seems to be heading in with their new models. Not everyone seems to be a fan of the new spindle grille however. They also seem pretty keen on releasing more hybrid variants, which I think will translate to more sales.

Products like the Lexus LC and LS kick off this new shift from Lexus. The interest in them is good enough to meet these goals. On mainstream models they'll have to do better and they've proven so. The ES for example has been a sales leader and the new 2019 model looks ready to raise the bar.

I was pretty surprised to see a hybrid variant of the new LC 500. It seems be quite the complex system too, with what seems like a multi gearbox setup. Though I think people need to adjust their expectations for fuel economy in a V8.

If there is an automaker that can develop a proper hybrid V8 system it's Lexus. Don't forget to take into account that a hybrid system will also provide a lot better torque off the line. Its just as useful for increasing performance as it is for economy.

The IS is a great product that with updates that reflect current changes made elsewhere will push the brand to new heights. So far we seen the RC get some generous upgrades, I hope next up its the IS. Although the UX is set to be in my garage, an F-Sport IS is also on the list.
