UX will be the brands most affordable Lexus

The 2019 Lexus UX now has official pricing, which has made it the brands cheapest model available. The standard, non-hybrid Lexus UX 200 starts at $33,025, and the hybrid Lexus UX 250h starts at $35,025. That makes the base model roughly $4,000 cheaper than the NX 300. At this price point the UX also undercuts key rivals such as the GLA 250 and X1, which both start at $34k. The UX 200 will be the first on sale starting this December, and the UX 250h hybrid will become available the following month.

A great entry price for a new Lexus, which should help to entice new buyers. Unfortunate that the hybrid wont be available at launch because it exclusively has AWD, as well as a boost to power and fuel economy. An important note for interested buyers is that this is also Lexus' first vehicle to be offered through their subscription service.

At least the two models are launching only a month apart, and the price hike is reasonable. I wonder how many customers we will see go the route of a subscription service, but I know its been working well for Volvo's new XC40.

Slowly the market is inching towards wanting cheaper vehicles which will only be accelerated by autonomous systems and car sharing programs.

LF-SA concept was a good example of it and I believe as we step into the 2020's a production version will come to market, making it THE cheapest Lexus.

Sub-$30k USD bracket has a lot of potential!

What are the odds that Lexus will actually bring a small city car like the LF SA to market? I know sales for the Smart car have taken a bit of a dip in the last few years, and now they are releasing it as a four door.
