Lexus UX named one of the safest luxury SUVs of 2019

Motortrend went through the IIHS safety ratings for SUVs and the Lexus UX made their list for the safest luxury SUVs of 2019. This is thanks to the UX being an IIHS 2019 Top Safety Pick and its 5-star NHTSA rating.

The 2019 UX made the list with the likes of the 2019-2020 Acura RDX, 2019 Audi Q8, 2019 BMW X3, 2019 BMW X5, 2019-20 and Infiniti QX60.

Here's what Motortrend wrote in their article:

"Apparently, high-riding hatchbacks are the new crossovers. The pint-sized UX is great for the city, offering a comfortable ride over uneven surfaces at normal speeds. And although it's the smallest utility vehicle in Lexus' lineup, the interior feels expensive for the most part. Lexus doesn't skimp on safety, either, offering a standard pre-collision system. This system allowed the UX to avoid a collision in 12-mph and 25-mph tests from IIHS. The UX is a Top Safety Pick on certain models with curve-adaptive headlights rated Acceptable by the agency."

Lexus typically top safety ratings so I'm not surprised. More advanced safety systems would help though.

That should be the next step for them for sure, are there any particular safety features you want to see Lexus add?
